Summary of the Concrete Pavement Design concepts included in Chapter 5 of the Integrated Materials and Construction Practices for Concrete Pavements: A State-of-the-Practice Manual (IMCP manual). Discusses the desired hardened concrete pavement properties that influence durability. Describes how to maximize pavement performance by minimizing permeability, minimizing alkali-silica reaction (ASR), maximizing frost resistance, maximizing abrasion resistance and maximizing sulfate resistance.
